All applicants must read the Life in Australia Booklet available from the Department of Home Affairs website to learn about the Australian values, history, culture, and society and then sign or accept the Australian Values Statement when applying for a visa.

Overseas Student Health Cover
Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) is a mandatory insurance requirement for international student visa holders, designed to cover hospital expenses and medical needs that may incur during their stay in Australia. OSHC insurance also includes coverage for various health treatment, accident and emergency ambulance services and prescription medications. Students may choose to purchase private health insurance along with the OSHC to cover some additional items that OSHC does not offer. Students must provide the evidence of OSHC insurance cover prior to the commencement of their course. AICE recommends Medibank for OSHC insurance which student must purchase prior to travelling to Australia.

Working While You Study
Everyone who works, including international students, has certain basic workplace rights in Australia. International students may work up to 48 hours per fortnight during their study weeks and unrestricted hours during their course term breaks.

Arrival information
You will be welcomed at the Perth International Airport by a staff member from AICE, who can assist and accompany you in reaching your accommodation safely. To request Airport pick up, applicant must fill out the airport pick request section on the enrolment application form when applying at AICE. AICE will be able to offer this service between 8.00 am – 9.00pm. Airport pick-up fees of $195 will apply if the service is requested.
Accommodation information
AICE staff will be able to assist on finding the accommodation such as hotel, hostel, home stay, student or share accommodation available for a short period of time. You must fill out the request in the relevant section on the enrolment application form to book your accommodation. Additional booking fees and charges will be applied as per the availability of accommodation services. Students must arrange their accommodation and provide the travel and accommodation details to info@aice.edu.au before you travel to Perth.

Enrolment Information
To enrol in a training program simply visit our website to find out course information, or contact the administration team on +618 6373 2425 or email enquiry@aice.edu.au and we will send out an enrolment form/link and the relevant course information. Enrolment application will be processed once the required documents and payment has been received. Prior to confirming your enrolment, we will carry out an application interview meeting with you to discuss:
- The application process, course requirements including your responsibilities and answer any questions you may have.
- If the course, you are enrolling into requires you to obtain a police/working with children check or other licences as part of the work placement.
- Your eligibility for Credit Transfer or RPL, which could reduce or extend the duration of completion and to ensure it is the right course for you.
You will be required to declare you have read and understood the relevant course information and International Student Handbook as part of the enrolment process.
Unique Student Identifier (USI)
A USI – Unique Student Identifier is a reference number that creates an online record of your training and qualifications attained in Australia.
If you are a new or continuing student undertaking nationally recognised training, you need a USI in order to receive your qualification or statement of attainment.
A USI is for life! You only have to create it once
The USI will give you access to an online record of your nationally recognised training in the form of a USI Transcript. This can be used when applying for a job, seeking a credit transfer or demonstrating pre-requisites when undertaking further training.
Creating a Unique Student Identifier (USI) will only take a few minutes and it is free. You only need to create a USI once and it will stay with you for life. After you create your USI, you then need to give it to each training provider you train with when you enrol.

Student Portal
When you enrol with AICE you will either create or be provided with a user account including username and password to the Student Portal.
The Student Portal enables users to have access to and manage their own personal profiles. Students can see their enrolments, invoices, online courses, results, reports, documents and leave feedback.
Assessment
AICE utilises a variety of assessment tools to assess students. These include, but are not limited to;
- Knowledge Test (KT)
- Skills Test (ST)
- Project (PT)
- Work placement Task
- Workplace Observation
Additional methods of assessment may also be used where a student’s experience or previous studies, or some combination of these, relate to their selected course. These methods of recognition include;
- Recognition of prior learning (RPL);
- Credit transfer (CT).
All students have the opportunity to apply for recognition. This means that you may not have to attend all or any training as you may already possess the skills and knowledge required.
